Hello people I'm thinking if buy a galaxy gear for use with my Samsung Galaxy s4 mini but I want to know if exist a way for at least answer my whatsapp messages. I know that the gear with the last ANDROID update can show all the notification but cannot answer them. TL;DR: Samsung watches: do they receive telegram and whatsapp notifications?
I have been searching around and have been unable to find a straight answer to this question, so perhaps you can help.
I am interested in buying a smartwatch, and am looking mostly at the Samsung line (although the lack of apps is an issue, espc. google maps).
However, what is a dealbreaker for me right now is that there is no dedicated telegram/whatsapp app for it. I have seen occasional reports that you can still get messages through these services due to third-party notification settings being turned on (if your phone is close), but I have not seen any strong confirmations of this.
Can anyone who has this phone confirm both of these apps would still push notifications to the watch? If this is the case, I'd probably get one.

Follow these steps to install the WhatsApp Messenger app on your Samsung Galaxy device.
At the moment, WhatsApp has only made the app available on devices running Android 2.1 or later, and devices that are able to receive messages or calls during the verification process.
WhatsApp does not officially support Wi-Fi only devices.
Please note: if you have trouble with an app we recommend contacting that app's developer. Third-party applications are not supported by Samsung. Visit the WhatsApp website for a list of their FAQs.
Note: you will need to have enough spare memory on your device. You can clear space on your device by deleting apps you don't use or by moving them to an SD card.
(You can either do this by pressing the pop-up notifying you that Whatsapp has installed, or it will now be available on the screen after you tap Apps)
